Fix Dementia Care
Working with Alzheimer's Society to fix a broken home care system
With 400,000 dementia sufferers in the UK but no cure in sight, care is the only form of support they have. Sadly, there is a lack of training and resources for home carers, in fact only 1 in 3 have dementia training yet 86% believe* that dementia training would allow them to provide better care.
We built a page within Engaging networks, allowing supporters to send an email to their MP asking for funded training programmes for all homecare workers and a thorough review of the quality and impact of dementia training currently provided.
We included a live counter at the top of the page to show how many emails had been sent and reached the target of 30,000 within the first three weeks.
